Standard daily ration for a horse weighing 500 kg:

Horses for competition
C 200: 1 kg (1.5 litres), cereals: 3 à 4 kg, meadow hay: 6 kg

Horses for sport and leisure
C 200: 0.5 kg (0.8 litre), cereals: 2 à 3 kg, meadow hay: 5 kg

Horses for breeding

  • Mares from the initial weeks until weaning: 300 g (0.45 litres) of C 200 and cereals.
  • From weaning to 12 months, C 200: 1.5 to 2 kg (2.3 to 3 litres), cereals: 2 to 4 kg and meadow hay: 2 to 3 kg
  • Yearlings, C 200:  850 g to 1.3 kg (1.3 to 2litres), cereals: 2 to 2.5 kg and meadow hay: 5 to 6 kg
  • Mares, C 200:  last 3 months of gestation: 750 g to 1 kg (1.1 to 1.5 litres), cereals: 2 to 2.5 kg and meadow hay: 5 to 6 kg
  • Lactating mares, C 200: 2 kg (3 litres), cereals: 4 to 5 kg and meadow hay: 6 to 7 kg
  • Stallions, C 200: 1 to 2 kg (1.5 to 3 litres), cereals: 2 to 3 kg and meadow hay: 6 to 7 kg (depending on rest period or breeding season)

Ponies weighing 250 kg: halve the quantities shown.

Grazing: halve the quantities of C 200, of cereals and hay or stop completely, depending on the quality and quantity of grass available.
