This Hungarian version of the Anglo-Arab is descended from the Arabian stallion Siglavy-Gidran, imported from the Middle East in 1816. Together with the Spanish mare Arrogante, he produced Gidran II in 1820, considered the founding stallion. By 1830, his bloodline had been crossed with the English Thoroughbred, giving rise to his first name, the Hungarian Anglo-Arab.
