The Muraközi horse

The Muraközi or Muraköz, a Hungarian draught horse, was created at the beginning of the 20th century by crossing local horses from southern Hungary, on the banks of the Mura, with the Belgian Trait, the Ardennes, the Percheron and the Noriker. Today, there is a heavy and a lighter type.

Rather long, heavy head. Slightly convex profile. Long ears. Short, muscular neck. Short, muscular neck. Low withers. Powerful, sloping shoulder. Deep chest. Short back, sloping croup. Short, strong limbs. Strong bones. Presence of dewlap. Round hoof. Tail set low. Coat: bay, brown bay, black, gray, or chestnut with washed manes. Height: approx. 1.63 m.
