The Einsiedler horse

This light horse was created in the 15th century at a Benedictine abbey in Einsiedeln, in the canton of Schwyz. Over the centuries, numerous crosses were made with European half-bloods (Hanoverian, Holstein, Trakehner, Swedish), Thoroughbreds and Hackneys, but mainly with Anglo-Normans, giving rise to the name “Swiss Norman”.
