The Sanfratellano horse

This saddle horse, bred in the province of Messina, near San Fratello in Sicily, is said to derive from Oriental horses (Arabs), Spanish horses (Andalusians) brought by the Moors, or Nordic horses introduced by the Normans. Crosses have been made with the Lipizzaner, the Nonius, the Maremmana and, more recently, the Thoroughbred.
