The Terek horse

This saddle horse was mainly bred from the Strelet, a Russian horse like the Arabian, the Cossacks’ favorite mount. From 1920 onwards, the last Strelets were grouped together at the Tersk and Stavropol stud farms in Russia, north of the Caucasus. These horses were crossed with Arabs, Kabardins and Dons.
