The Vladimir heavy draught horse

This draught horse was developed on Russian farms in the late 19th century around Vladimir, northeast of Moscow, by mixing existing stock with Cleveland Bais, Suffolk Punchs, Ardennes, Clydesdales, Percherons, and Shires. The breed was recognized in 1946.

Good-tempered, quiet, and easy to handle, these horses are powerful, very vigorous and energetic. The action is ample and energetic.

Morphologie du cheval

Small head. Convex profile. Straight ears. Strong, medium-ribbed body. Moderately long, roan neck. Fairly high withers. Powerful shoulders. Ample chest. Slightly concave, short back. Strong, short loins. Strong hindquarters. Ample, sloping croup. Strong, solid limbs. Dewlap optional. Wide hooves. Coat: chestnut, bay, dark bay or black. Height: 1.55 to 1.65 m.
