The main horse shows in France

Cheval Passion Horse Show

During the month of January, horse riding enthusiasts gather in Avignon for Cheval Passion. For more than 30 years, this event has welcomed equestrian art enthusiasts, exhibitors, representatives of the equine industry, but also and above all lovers of the sport. Numerous events take place, as well as shows of all equestrian disciplines.

Trotting Show in Normandy

At the beginning of February, the Trotting show in Normandie is held at the Saint-Lô equestrian center. Dedicated to trotting professionals, this horse show is unique in its kind. Exhibitors, breeders, associations and, of course, the public will be there.

Bordeaux Horse Show

In February, the Bordeaux Horse Show or Jumping International de Bordeaux also brings together numerous exhibitors, associations, and companies in the equine industry. Many shows and events are also organized, including the international jumping in which the greatest international riders participate. Great Week de Fontainebleau

The Great Week de Fontainebleau is held towards the end of August. It hosts the National Finals for Young Horses in Show Jumping and Hunter. It is also an opportunity for breeding enthusiasts, amateurs, and professionals to meet up for this unique event every year.

Equita Lyon

In Lyon, equestrian enthusiasts meet for Equita Lyon in November. Several events take place there, such as several jumping competitions, including a 5*, dressage, driving and western competitions.

Paris Horse Show

Let’s finish with the great must-see horse show! Created in 1972, the Paris Horse Show has been held since 2010 at Paris Nord-Villepinte. The first edition took place at the Bastille, and then at the Porte de Versailles. The Paris Horse Show is the most anticipated event in France. Usually taking place in December, all the actors of the sector meet: many exhibitors (equipment manufacturers, merchants), breeders, riding schools and many actors of the equine sector. You will also find the institutions with the Garde Républicaine, the equestrian brigade of the Préfecture de Police de Paris and the French Equestrian Federation. As for the great riders of the moment, they will compete in the 5* indoor show jumping competition, one of the most renowned events in the equestrian world.

The Fieracavalli

Beyond the French borders, horse shows are also present. The Fieracavalli in Verona is a festival that gathers every year in November many horses and horse riding enthusiasts. It is the biggest equestrian event in Italy! An appointment not to be missed.

Equitana

Equitana is the world’s largest equestrian sports exhibition. Renowned for the many innovations presented by exhibitors during the show, it is a bi-annual event that takes place in Germany. With more than 600 stands and 7 days of exhibition, Equitana is a delight for professionals and the public.

The big international competitions

The CHIO of Aachen in Germany is a major event on the European circuit. Held since 1927, this ancient competition brings together nearly 350,000 spectators and over 600 journalists. In Geneva, the CSIO 5* was held for the first time in 1926 and is still considered as the reference of the circuit. France hosts a CSIO 5* in June in La Baule, and in July in Dinard.
